2024/25 Player Pen Pics

Jonathan Edwards - A prolific striker Jonny arrived at Latimer Park in October 2024 when The Poppies paid league rivals St Ives Town an undisclosed fee to secure his services. Jonny ended the 2023/24 Southern League Premier Division season as the divisions top scorer with 30 goals and had an overall record of 56 goals in 81 games for Ives. He scored on his Kettering debut in a victory over Bromsgrove Sporting. Previous clubs include Peterborough United, Hull City, Accrington Stanley, Woking, FC Halifax Town and Maidstone United.

Cyrus Babaie-Gumbs - Striker who joined in March 2025 from Biggleswade Town where he scored 11 goals in 29 appearances. Previous clubs include Potters Bar Town, Welwyn Garden City and Hoddesdon Town.

Kai Fifield - An exciting winger Kai signed for The Poppies in July 2024 following an impressive trial with the club. Had spells with Wantage Town and St Ives Town as well as playing locally with Wellingborough Whitworths.

Alex Gudger - A vastly experienced central defender Alex arrived at Latimer Park on a loan deal until the end of the season from Brackley Town. Spent the first half of the 24/25 season on loan at league rivals AFC Telford United. Spent five seasons with Solihull Moors and has also enjoyed spells with Worcester City, Rugby Town and Nuneaton Borough.

Ben Hart - Ben is an attacking right full-back who arrived at Latimer Park in June 2024 after leaving Coalville Town. He began his career at Burton Albion under Nigel Clough before joining Tamworth where he was part of The Lambs 2022/23 Southern League Premier Division Central title winning side. Had just one season at Coalville before being snapped up by Richard Lavery.

Dan Jezeph - Goalkeeper Dan made the move to Latimer Park in January 2024 following the demise of Nuneaton Borough. Kept a clean sheet on his debut in a 1-0 victory away to Hitchin Town. One of the best goalkeepers in the division Dan has also had spells with Alvechurch, Worcester City, Tamworth and Walsall.

Connor Johnson - Kettering born defender Connor re-joined The Poppies in July 2024 from Peterborough Sports who he joined from Kettering in 2022. Originally arrived at Latimer Park in December 2020 after leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers where he had loan spells with Boreham Wood, AFC Telford United, Walsall, Bury and Kilmarnock. Regarded by many as the best Central Defender in the Division.

Devon Kelly-Evans - An all action midfielder who runs all game Devon joined The Poppies in July 2024 from Quorn. Began his career with Coventry City then had spells with Nuneaton Borough, Stratford Town and Leamington prior to being taken to Quorn by Richard Lavery. Devon is the twin brother of former Poppies title winning full-back Dion Kelly-Evans.

Jamar Loza - Striker who joined in March 2025 from league rivals Leiston where he had scored 24 goals in the 24/25 season. Began his career with Norwich City and had loan spells with Coventry City, Leyton Orient, Southend United, Yeovil Town and Stevenage whilst at Carrow Road. Signed for Maidstone United in October 2016 and has had spells with Woking, Barnet and King's Lynn Town prior to joining Leiston in July 2023. Jamar is also a full Jamaican International having won four caps for The Reggae Boys.

Sam McLintock - A skilful attacking midfielder Sam arrived at Latimer Park in February 2025 from Rushall Olympic. Began his career with Coleshill Town before joining Alverchurch before FC Halifax Town came in to sign him. Whilst at The Shay he enjoyed a loan spell with Stalybridge Celtic. On his release from Halifax Sam had a brief spell with AFC Telford United before former Poppies Manager Ian Culverhouse took him to Boston United. He made 44 appearances for The Pilgrims before joining The Pics in November 2023.

Luca Miller - Another local player in The Poppies ranks Luca is a skilful midfield player who came up through the Kettering Town academy making his first team debut aged 17 in September 2023. Has enjoyed productive loan spells with both Desborough Town and Harborough Town and in February 2025 he moved to St Ives Town on another loan deal.

Terell Pennant - Attacking midfielder Terell joined The Poppies on New Years Eve 2024 and made his debut the following day against Harborough Town. He arrived at Latimer Park from National League North side Rushall Olympic. Played the 2023/24 season at Coalville Town alongside currant Poppies team mates Ben Hart, Andi Thanoj and Wes York. Prior to joining Coalville Terell spent six years with Leicester City.

Callum Powell - Callum is a pacy, skilful forward who returned to Latimer Park in late December 2024 from Braintree Town. Originally joined The Poppies in November 2020 from Stratford Town and his fine performances and goal scoring saw him join Southend United in January 2022 for an undisclosed fee. Callum has also had spells with Wrexham, Tamworth, Nuneaton Borough and Buxton.

Aaron Powell - Aaron, a left-back joined The Poppies in August 2024 on a seasons long loan from Peterborough United. A quality player in both defence and attack Aaron has also had loan spells with Dereham Town, Welling United, Bishop's Stortford and King's Lynn Town during his time with The Posh. 

Nile Ranger - Nile is a vastly experienced striker who joined The Poppies in September 2024. Began his career with Newcastle United playing in both the Premier League and The Championship for The Magpies. Whilst at St James's Park he had loan spells with both Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley. Played for Blackpool, Swindon Town and Southend United before going through some well publicised off the pitch issues. Had brief spells with Spalding United and Boreham Wood before his arrival at Latimer Park. A player with real quality who has added a lot to the Kettering squad since his arrival.  

Marvin Sordell - Marvin is another experienced striker manager Richard Lavery added to his squad in September 2024. Has played in the Premier League for both Bolton Wanderers and Burnley and has Championship experience with Watford, Charlton Athletic and Burton Albion as well as other football league clubs Tranmere Rovers, Colchester United, Coventry City and Northampton Town.

Kyle Storer - Kyle is a vastly experienced midfielder who arrived at Latimer Park in February 2025 from AFC Telford United. A former team mate of Poppies manager Richard Lavery at Nuneaton Borough Kyle has a wealth of experience at all levels of non league football having played for Tamworth, Hinckley United, Nuneaton Borough, Kidderminster Harriers, Wrexham, Cheltenham Town and Solihull Moors. Whilst at Cheltenham he was part of The Robins squad that won the National League title and he played over 50 times for Cheltenham in the football league.

Andi Thanoj - Midfield playmaker Andi arrived at Latimer Park in July 2024 after two season with Coalville Town. An Albanian Under 21 International he began his career at Grimsby Town making over 60 first team appearances before joining Alfreton Town. A short spell at Harrogate Town followed before a season with Redditch United. Andi then enjoyed four seasons with Boston United before he moved to Coalville in 2022.

Declan Towers - Central Defender who returned to Latimer Park for a third time in February 2025. Originally joined The Poppies in August 2018 from Barwell and went on to play 39 times as Kettering won The Southern League Premier Division Central title. But after just the one season he left to join Nuneaton Borough for a season before returning to Barwell. Spent the 2023/24 season playing for Aylestone Park but did return to Latimer Park for one game in February 2024 and put in a Man Of The Match performance in a 2-0 home victory over AFC Sudbury.

Lewis White - Lewis is a tough, no nonsense Central Defender who returned to Latimer Park in September 2024 following a brief spell with Spalding United. First joined The Poppies in July 2022 from neighbours Corby Town going on to make 28 appearances in National League North. Played another 32 times in the 2023/24 season but in July 2024 he left Latimer Park to join Spalding United. Lewis never really settled at The Tulips and returned to Latimer Park, scoring on his first game back against St Ives Town

Finley Wilkinson - Finley is a 22 year old attacking midfielder who arrived at Latimer Park in March 2025 on loan from National League side Barnet. Joined The Bees in August 2024 from Hitchin Town who he scored for against Kettering at Latimer Park in September 2024. Has had loan spells this season with Braintree Town, St Albans City and Chelmsford City.

Ty Wilson - Ty is a speedy, skilful winger who joined The Poppies in July 2024 from Quorn. Began his career with Derby County where he was involved with the first team aged just 18 under the management of Frank Lampard. He left Pride Park in November 2022 and joined Ilkeston Town. In July 2023 Richard Lavery signed Ty for Quorn and after an excellent season at Quorn Lavery moved to bring him to Kettering.

Tate Xavier-Jones - Highly rated forward who arrived at Latimer Park on loan from Luton Town in March 2025.

Wes York - Wes arrived at Latimer Park in July 2024 having left Coalville Town where he played in the same side as Ben Hart, Andi Thanoj and Terell Pennant. Began his career with Anstey Nomads before a move to Nuneaton Borough. Wes went on to play for Wrexham, Gateshead and York City before spending four seasons with county rivals Brackley Town. A player who can play a number of positions and that's what makes him a valuable and important member of The Poppies squad
