Match Preview - Tuesday February 25th 2025 - Kick-Off 7.45pm
KETTERING TOWN v HALESOWEN TOWN
So it's a Tuesday night under the Latimer Park lights with the visit of Halesowen Town in an important Southern League Premier Division Fixture. The Poppies head into the game off the back of Friday night's 3-1 defeat at Bedford Town whilst The Yeltz come into match in buoyant mood having won the "Number 9" derby with local rivals Stourbridge on Saturday.
That derby day victory for Halesowen moved them level on points with Kettering but The Poppies better goal difference has them above The Yeltz and Kettering also have two games in hand. Kettering probably have a far better chance of the title than Halesowen but it's a big three points on offer for both sides. In the defeat at Bedford The Poppies were far better than the 3-1 score line suggests and have been in much improved form. But Halesowen are a good side with an excellent manager in Russell Penn and have some excellent players in their squad including 20 goal striker Kieran Donnelly, Reece Flanagan and ex Rushden & Diamonds man Connor Tee. Whilst it won't be an easy game The Poppies have the best home record in the division and don't lose many at Latimer Park
