KETTERING TOWN v REDDITCH UNITED - SATURDAY 9TH NOVEMBER - LATIMER PARK
Following the highs of last weekend's amazing FA Cup victory over Northampton Town at Sixfields The Poppies return to the bread and butter when 4th placed Redditch United visit Latimer Park in a crucial clash at the top of the Southern League Premier Division Central.
Whilst Kettering were in cup action last week none of the other promotion chasing sides could take advantage of The Poppies break from league action and Richard Lavery's side remain top of the division on goal difference ahead of Stamford and Halesowen Town. All the focus of the FA Cup clash with Doncaster Rovers have to be put on the back burner as there are four massive league fixtures coming up, three of them being against teams in the top seven league places.
The good news for Richard Lavery is he has, probably for the first time this season, a fully fit squad to choose from. Both Dan Jarvis and Kai Fifield returned from injury last week to make the bench at Sixfields giving manager Lavery a few tough decisions to make regarding team selection. Also returning for Kettering is striker Jonny Edwards who was cup-tied last week.
A LOOK AT REDDITCH UNITED FC
"The Reds" are managed by former Southampton, Blackburn Rovers and England International goalkeeper Tim Flowers who arrived at the club in the summer. Flowers has seen his side in and around the top 7 places for most of the season and they will provide The Poppies with a tough test tomorrow. They also have an excellent record at Latimer Park, only losing once in their six previous visits.
Last Saturday they recorded a convincing 3-0 victory away at St Ives Town and they have the best away record in the division winning six and losing just one of their seven games on the road. They know that victory at Latimer Park tomorrow could see them move to the top of the table.
